Curious? That's good. Skeptical? Look into it. Anxious to reject the science because it presents something 'inconvenient'? That's a very popular position, but it's not wise. The content of this site casts light on some inconvenient truths, and some visitors will probably want to see some specific support for the information put forward here. Cited sources within this website include people like Dr T. Collin Campbell and Dr Caldwell Esselstyn, individuals of the highest scientific credentials and unusually impressive bodies of professional work. Web searches will produce copious resources featuring and discussing these excellent scientists and their work. But there is similarly relevant work that has been, and is being, produced by many other scientists, working in scientific disciplines other than medicine and epidemiology. This page contains links to research reports and peer-reviewed articles published in scientific journals. It must be noted, and should be obvious, that the links provided are not exhaustive. (I'd like to promise that the listings would be edited and updated frequently, but that's not realistic.) What about bias? While anyone might be accused of bias (some will say that health, ecology, poverty and/or hunger-relief related advocacy is biased [an accusation which reveals it's own bias!]), we should avoid the claims and press releases of groups with an obvious bias. Do we not know, before reading a statement from the meat-producing industry, what their 'findings' will [of necessity] be? Viewed from another perspective, posting links to Greenpeace reports might cause some polarized partisans to commence throwing rocks at their monitors. The links below avoid those kinds of prejudices. |
